ESL & Citizenship

This is a no fee class (not applicable to testing fees).

Make yourself more marketable in the workforce by improving your English skills and becoming a US citizen. Tulare Adult School proudly offers classes for students who are learning English as their second (or third) language and those interested in applying for US citizenship.

ESL

We offer the following English as a Second Language classes:

  • Beginner
    Learn the basics of English through everyday activities like speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Simple grammar rules are also discussed to assist you in understanding the structures of the English language.
  • Intermediate
    Learn basic grammar structures and increase your English-speaking skills by communicating through simple in-class dialogues.
  • Advanced
    Increase your ability to use English at work, school, and in the community by gaining understanding of idioms, grammar structure, and advanced vocabulary. Build your confidence in English by developing additional speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills.

Citizenship

Designed for foreign-born persons who wish to become US citizens, this course covers the principles of American history and government. We also walk our students through the citizenship process and help them take the first steps toward applying.
